love-mapThe second figure, located at the right of the entrance to the McMurtry Gardens of Justice, is a tall figure of a man, reminiscent of Atlas, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. In fact, this is Freedom of Religion, with the faiths of the world in his hands.

Like Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Religion appears serene and at ease with the weight upon his shoulders. He is charged with keeping and supporting those faiths, holding their sacred beliefs high, never allowing them to fall and be sullied in the dust. The figure seems unperturbed by the weight of his responsibility. They seem like less of a burden and more of a torch, lighting his way in the dark.
